About Our Practice
Steven M. Pounders, M.D. provides full service adult primary care and HIV specialty care in the Uptown and Oak Lawn neighborhoods of Dallas. We pride ourselves on getting to know our patients and welcoming them into our unique family. When you come to our office, you’ll usually hear music and laughter as our staff bustles about to take care of patients.
Fun isn’t our only priority though. We are dedicated to seeking out knowledgeable and passionate medical professionals to join our office and provide the best service possible to our patients.
Dr. Pounders began practicing medicine in 1989, and opened his own independent practice in a small office off of Buena Vista Street here in Dallas in 1992. He moved the office to our current location at the intersection of Oak Lawn Avenue and Lemmon Avenue in 2007 to better service patients living in the Oak Lawn, Uptown, and Downtown neighborhoods in Dallas.
We recently doubled our office size to during the Winter of 2017/2018 to accommodate the addition of new providers, offer Prevenna screening services, provide more space for the MDVIP program, and help cut down the wait time for patients coming in for their visits.
